Terrarium: Your terrarium should be a blend of decomposing leaves, wood and black earth. Additionally you can add a variety of the following: sand, sphagnum moss, cork bark, hard wood tree bark, clean black earth (potting soil without chemicals or fertilizers). Great hiding spots can be created for your species with different types of moss, leaves and barks. Ensure your terrarium has a lid, and is ventilated.
Temperature: 20 - 25°C
Humidity: 1/3 moist
*This species love to dig so give them plenty of digging space.
Diet: Isopods are detritivores: primary food is rotting/dead plant matter. They will also eat small amounts of protein, certain fruits and vegetables (carrots, potato, apples). Protein can be provided through: fish flakes, other dead insects such as crickets or mealworms.
Difficulty: Intermediate
Reproductive rate: prolific once established
Recommended to keep this species by itself until very well established
